St John the Baptist CE Primary School & Nursery is a small village church linked primary school with an integrated nursery, where all in the school community are committed to ensuring the highest quality in the children’s learning and their social and physical development, within the supporting community of the Church of England ethos. The pupils and staff are justifiably proud of their school and our achievements. We set high standards, not only for the work produced and pupils learning, but also to ensure the school is a happy and secure place in which to learn.
At St. John the Baptist CE Primary School & Nursery we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
The school is in the heart of the community. We work with the local people; they support the school well and the school, in turn works closely with the local community. We have strong and regular links with our local church. We make good use of our environment, recognising the rich surroundings for curriculum development, to enhance pupil’s learning, and to teach pupils to value and respect the world in which we all live. We are also very lucky to have the use of an offsite woodland for our forest school with provision both of a wooded area as well as access to the river for further study, a purpose built working area and, of course, an area to light the fire and cook!
The website contains information about the school; its policies and organisation, which aim to provide children with a quality learning experience and environment. The photographs and examples of children’s work and experiences in school will give you a flavour of our work.
We aim here to answer some of the questions that you would want to ask. If you require further information or clarification of anything, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Yours sincerely,
Julie Ball
