Dragonfly Class Monday 11th May

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed the VE Day celebrations on Friday in some way; it was a pleasure to see houses decorated with bunting and flags as I enjoyed my morning run – true British spirit! Otherwise I’ve been lost in a book this weekend… it’s one of those books that I can’t put down and I’m totally lost in the story all about children in World War II. I hope you’re all getting the chance to get stuck into some good books too!

This week we are going to begin with a focus on Florence Nightingale whose birthday Is May 12th. She is particularly significant at the moment with the Nightingale Hospitals being built in her name… I wonder why she is so important?

Here are your learning activities for today:

4. English:

It’s research time! One of the skills we practise in Year 4/5  is note-taking – developing the ability to write key points down which can be used at a later date.

I would like you to make your own Florence Nightingale ‘notes’ page – remember, it doesn’t have to look pretty, but you must be able to read what you’ve put and be prepared to produce something using your notes tomorrow!

This website has got lots of good information to get you started:
