Jack and the Beanstalk – Theatre Severn

We enjoyed a brilliant trip to Theatre Severn this week to see the Christmas Panto – Jack and the Beanstalk. We were even more surprised to see our very own Seren get up on stage and take part in the children’s challenge, singing in front of the whole theatre!

A special ‘thank you’ to the Friends of Ruyton who funded the tickets for every child to experience and enjoy this show – your fundraising efforts brought many smiles to lots of faces and made special memories!

Bikeabililty Balance

This week our Reception and Year 1 children took part in ‘Bikeability Balance’. They were learning how to ride and control a balance bike.

This included how to:

  • identify parts of a balance bike
  • get on and off a balance bike
  • push and glide
  • stop safely
  • control and steer a balance bike
  • be aware of your surroundings
  • share space with others

They all had a fantastic time!

Dodgeball – Corbet Area tournament

On Wednesday, a squad of 8 players from Year 4, 5 and 6 headed out to the Corbet School for the area Dodgeball competition. We are absolutely DELIGHTED to announce that the team had amazing success and finished second, qualifying for the North Shropshire Finals in Spring term! Well done to all the children – especially Year 4 Otto for stepping-up and facing the older opposition!

Experience Eucharist – Church Visit

Owl Class had a great morning out at the Church this morning for Experiencing the Eucharist, an event organised by Reverend Lucinda and Reverend Hannah with the support of the Church group. The children from Bomere Heath school also joined us at Church to work through hands-on activities to develop their understanding – a super morning was had by all! Thank you to the team from the Church for their effort in creating this workshop.
