This term we are learning all about what it is like to be Hindu today. This week we were thinking about how Hindu’s show their faith when they are together. We learnt all about Mandir’s which are Hindu temples and Bhajans which are the songs used in worship that are devoted to different deities. The children were tasked in groups to give a presentation about an image of an aspect of the Hindu worship and explain its importance. Everyone spoke with great confidence!

Young Voices
On Tuesday the Young Voices choir had a fabulous day and evening performing along with other schools at the BP Pulse Arena in Birmingham. It was the final concert after months of hard work learning all the songs and dance moves. As well as the singing with other schools, we accompanied special singing guests Souparnika Nair from Britain’s Got Talent, Tommy Blaize from Strictly Come Dancing, and our favourite MC Grammar. We also danced along with Urban Strides street dance company. We were very tired by the end of the day, but it was well worth it!

Owl Class Book publication – The Magical Map
A few months ago, Owls completed a 100 word story using their own imagination. They were told that there is a chance their stories will be chosen for publication into the book named ‘The Magical Map’. This week, we received some fantastic news. It was decided that lots of the pieces have been chosen to be published! Letters have gone home to parents to explain further details, but if anyone has any other questions then please speak to Mr Arthur directly or via the school.
We celebrated the news by handing the certificates out as well as some bookmarks and stickers. Brilliant work everyone!
