The Reception children have made their own Easter Gardens using natural materials this week. They all knew that Christians would put 3 crosses and a tomb in an Easter Garden to remember the Easter story.

Earlier this term, the Reception children all designed a parachute for Jack to jump down from the castle instead of climbing back down the beanstalk. They all had so many fantastic ideas! Then, they all made their parachutes and tested them out on our Lego “Jack”. The children then verbally evaluated how well their parachute worked. Great work team!
Hedgehog Class made the most of the sunshine yesterday afternoon and spent some time developing their gross motor skills on the new adventure playground! Look at that confidence and those smiles!
Today we went on an Easter egg hunt outside. We know that Easter egg hunts happen on Easter Sunday. We learnt that Easter Sunday is an exciting day for Christians as they want to tell everyone that Jesus is not dead but alive forever! We learnt that some Christians go to church to worship on Easter Sunday and sing joyful songs.
We watched a video of some Christian people putting flowers on a big cross to show that Jesus is not dead any more as flowers are a symbol of new life. Then, we made our own flower crosses in class using the collage technique.
An amazing effort by our cross country team this morning 👏
Y3/4 Girls – a brilliant turn-out of 8 runners! Charley finished 2nd and overall the team came 2nd! 👏
Y3/4 Boys – a squad of 3 finished together and earned themselves 3rd place overall 👌
Y5/6 Girls – We were SO proud of Brooke for representing Ruyton as our only girl! Not only did she finish smiling, she did it all again in the fun run!
Year 5/6 Boys – Our team of 4 had the biggest field of the day with over 50 competitors: our boys finished brilliantly but just missed out on top 3 places.
I was so proud of each and every one of you – thanks for giving me a fun morning! A huge thank you to all the parents / families for supporting this event and a special shout-out to Deejay for sorting the bibs! Miss Whit 👏
It’s just one week until our Easter break and there is LOTS going on in school.
Firstly, thank you to all our parents / carers who joined us for parents meetings this week; it’s great to have everyone back in the school building and celebrating our children.
In our assembly we also took the opportunity to say ‘good luck’ to all the children who have entered the Clive School Cross Country event tomorrow (Saturday) morning. Good luck team!
Furthermore, our Year 6s heading off to Arthog next week – we hope you all have a brilliant time!

Roday we finally held the grand opening of our brand new Adventure Playground! The playground has been funded by money raised by our incredible Friends group; we couldn’t be more grateful for the effort you have all made for our children to create a year-round area the children can use. Thank you to everyone involved in the building and construction too included Ray Parry and his team.
Chair of Governors, Keith Lister, helped Andreas cut the opening ribbon and all the children were able to have a first play on the area. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening!
The Selman family also joined in the celebrations; Mrs Selman held a birthday party which saw all funds raised donated to our playground! Amazing!
