“Let’s all creep through crocodile creek”…
We have been learning the story “Let’s all creep through crocodile creek” since coming back to school in January. Today, we learnt how to make a story map by creating a whole class shared one. After that, the children took it in turns to retell the whole story using their map to help them. We all think they did a super job of their first story maps and can’t wait to see them having a go at making their own later in the week!
History – Explorers
In our history lesson this week we have been learning about different explorers throughout history. We worked together to put them onto a timeline based on when they went exploring. We also learned the 7 different continents and tried to put out explorers on a world map to show which continent they explored.
If you would like to listen to the continents song, follow this link (it is very catchy!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzqdDdxr9VI
Beautiful Snow Scenes
As part of our “Winter” topic, the children spent some time looking at different photos of winter, before creating their own winter scene using paint and tin foil.
Exploring the snow!
On Monday, Hedgehog Class had a great time outside in the snow. We were exploring different ways of melting snow and ice. We learnt that for water to freeze, the temperature must be below 0°c. We used our hands, warm water, salt, paint, washing up liquid and soap to find out what melted the ice and snow the fastest.

Art – Clay Self Portraits
In our Art lessons we have been learning about self-portraits. We have practised different sketching and painting skills and to finish off our unit last term we created self-portraits in clay. We had to think carefully about the techniques we used to create detail in our faces!

Christingle Making 2023!
This morning the children have been busy making their Christingles for our church service this afternoon. Rev. Lucinda came in to talk to the children about the meaning of the Christingle and then we split into different classes to make our own. The older children did a fantastic job of helping the younger children. Well done team!
