We had a wonderful day at Park Hall Farm. We spent some time with the rabbits, we looked after a shetland pony and we fed the sheep, goats and alpacas! Our highlight of the day was the pig racing!!

Today in Rabbits Class we have spent some time talking about Remembrance day and the reasons why we have a two minutes silence. The children took a lot of time, care and effort creating their collage poppies as a sign of respect and support for the Armed Forces.
Homework and spellings will be given out on a Thursday and will be expected back in on the following Wednesday. We will have an informal spelling test on a Wednesday too to see how the children are getting on. Homework will be a mixture of online and on paper tasks!
The children have new log in details for Teams, which will be inside their homework books. If your child was new to the school this year then they may not have a log in yet but it will arrive very soon (hopefully!). When all children are able to access Teams I will post the homework on there as well as in books. Homework can also be submitted via Teams or brought into school on a Wednesday.
Homework this week is…
Year 1: Science – label the parts of the body & Spellings (a good chance to practise your handwriting too!) – try and write the spelling at least three times on the line.
Year 2: Science – Tick the statements that are true for each type of animal. Spellings (a good chance to practise your handwriting too!) – try and write the spelling at least three times on the line.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks,
Miss Horton
Hello Rabbits Class, I hope you’ve had a brilliant summer and that you are ready and raring to come back to school. We have got lots of exciting things to look forward to this term!
Here is our timetable for the Autumn term. We will have PE on Tuesdays and Thursdays so please come to school in PE kit on those days. Year 1s you will be going to Forest School on a Tuesday afternoon so will need to come to school in your Forest School clothes.
The first half of term our Topic will be ‘Who lives in the North and South Poles?’. We will be learning about continents, the equator and the points of a compass. In the second half of term our Topic will be Bonfire Night and Remembrance day and we will think about memories we have and memories other people have. In science we will be learning all about Animals and their needs. We will look at classifying animals and what they need to survive. In English we will be focussing on the stories ‘Troll Swap’ and ‘The Owl who was afraid of the dark’. We will be writing our own stories and informative writing based on these books. In RE we will be answering the questions, ‘What do Christians believe God is like?’ and ‘Why does Christmas matter to Christians?’. In computing we will be thinking about how we can use the technology around us and learning how to take digital pictures. In PE we will be practising our gymnastic skills and learning how to play target games. We will be making moving pictures in DT and creating artwork linked to bonfire night in Art.
We have lots of things to keep us busy this term!
Any questions please feel free to catch me on the gate or email me.
Thanks,
Miss Horton 🙂
On Friday 18th March we are celebrating Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day in style!
Firstly, “Wear your favourite outfit” on Friday… from football kits to party dresses, wear whatever you love most. It’s all about YOU!
Secondly, we are holding a Bake Sale on Thursday and Friday. If you can, bake or donate some cakes for Fun & Games Council to sell over the two days: all money raised will be donated to Comic Relief.
Eco-Team have also set another challenge: it has been Fair Trade Fortnight over the past two weeks so they have challenged any bakers to use a Fair Trade ingredient in their creations… Good luck!
Ella clearly worked hard on her food project yesterday and created this wonderful animal cafe that she has called Pawtastic Delights! I love the menu as it has Human food and Doggie food!
Harrison really embraced the food theme this week – making his own Pet Cafe menu and a lovely Italian Food project. He then took the the outdoors, camping out and cooking up an amazing feast in the fire pit.

Kate Gregory has written this prayer for us all and we wanted to share it with our school community.
Dear Lord,
The world feels a strange place right now.
Our classrooms are empty and it is hard to play with our friends.
At this time, please look after my friends, my family and the people in our community who live on their own.
Help us to remember that you are always there and that one day this will pass.
Amen
