An earthquake in Dragonfly class!

As part of our Geography topic this term ‘Earth Matters’ we have been learning about Earthquakes and how they happen. Yesterday we learnt that the magnitude of earthquakes are measured on the Richter scale which indicates the amount of energy released at the earthquakes source. We also had a look at a seismograph and learnt that it is an instrument used to detect and record ground motion caused by seismic waves that are generated by earthquakes. So to consolidate our learning we had a go at creating our own Earthquakes and measuring their seismic waves on our home made seismographs!
