World Book Day 2018

Owl Class have been having an exciting day today celebrating World Book Day 2018. We started off by explaining to each other our choices of costumes and facts about our chosen character.

We have also been doing lots of fun activities like the World Book Day token competition and designing our own book covers and blurbs. We also used the book “This is not another Maths Book” and experimented with shapes such as pentominoes and also number patterns.

Owls & Dragonflies become writing buddies…

Dragonflies & Owls had a brilliant writing session on Wednesday when the children from Owls helped their Dragonfly peers to edit and improve their writing.

Ideas were challenged by both groups to achieve improved persuasive letters. There were some fantastic discussions in the room about the content, grammar and punctuation; it was a pleasure to see such constructive teamwork. Dragonflies look forward to returning the favour in the near-future!
