Dragonfly Class had a great day at the ‘Inspire’ workshop at Lichfield Cathedral which provided a classroom like no other! The children participated in workshops and worked with children from other schools exploring themes including fair trade, poverty, recycling, refugees whilst also exploring stories from the Bible.

On Monday we played host to a football friendly with Bascurch. The girls and boys teams took to the pitch for a 30 minute game. Baschurch won the boys 4-0 whilst the girls had goals aplenty in a 6-5 Baschurch win.
A special thank you to Mr Gittins who raked and cut the pitches to a high standard. Also to Nicky and Paula for their help with refreshments. Well done to all- we look forward to the next round.
Dragonflies loved their dance workshop on Friday morning (4th May) with Springs Dance Company. They performed different sequences of moves to tell the story of a girl who turned a dull, sad world into one full of happiness, colour and energy through her love of painting. Through the dance, children thought about God’s world and Christian values. 
Dragonflies have truly excelled themselves with their homework projects over the past two weeks where they were asked to come up with their own creations using the theme of ‘the Romans’.
Final products have included cookery, clay, movie-making, craftwork, letter-writing, powerpoint presentations and even custard-cream modelling! The ideas were endless. Well done and thank you Dragonflies; an impressive result!
Dragonflies enjoyed a visit to the Wroxeter Roman City this week. They had a guided tour of the museum, the remains and replica Roman Villa as part of our history project. The children particularly enjoyed learning lots of ‘horrible’ history which Ellie summed up when she exclaimed: “The Romans were gross!” By the end of the day, our tour guide, Hannah, complemented Dragonfly Class for their super behaviour and effort.
Next week Year 4 pupils in Dragonfly Class are due to take part in ‘Stepping Out’ road safety training around the village. We need parent volunteers to support us on the mornings of Monday 12th and Thursday 15th March. Please let us know if you can help!
