Festival of Culture & Ruyton’s Lantern
Year 4 had a fantastic, action-packed day at the ‘Festival of Culture’ at the Marches school. Hands-on workshops included drumming, street-dancing, Fair Trade, ‘Around the World’ and drama, whilst we were also treated to a brilliant drumming performance plus a presentation by Wolverhampton school children who shared their religious beliefs and culture. Having made our own ‘lantern’ in school we then had the opportunity to swap our light creations with another school. Our children worked with great enthusiasm and made the most of the brilliant opportunities on offer; well done Year 4!
Ruyton’s Lantern:
Based on our Village Cross with a Remembrance theme.
Jamie’s Drumming Performance! He played drums for the first time to over 200 people!
Street Dance – Year 4’s had to ‘Light It Up’ with their moves!
Lantern Giving: Whittington Primary were delighted to receive our lantern for their school. We received a lantern from Cockshutt primary – to be revealed shortly!
Wolverhampton school children
These pupils inspired us with a very informative presentation about their Muslim faith.
Art Workshop
Year 4 began to create two special projects this morning; one for Remembrance and a second in preparation for their Festival of Culture trip on Thursday. Watch this space for the final creations – the children have thoroughly enjoyed spending time reflecting on these causes as they worked.

Harvest Festival
Well done to all the children for their fabulous effort in this morning’s Harvest Festival. The children’s singing, drama and artwork were enjoyed by us all whilst it was fantastic to see all the donations of food being given to charity. Thank you to all the families and friends of our school who attended and gave their support; it was lovely to see so many of you.
