School Value Ambassadors (earning House Points with one pupil chosen each week per year group, awarded by teachers for showing one of our school values):

Year 6 Matilda for ‘Wisdom’ and ‘Respect’ – Tilly has been a joy to teach this week. She has shared fantastic ideas about the story of Macbeth.

Year 5 Millie for ‘Wisdom’ – Millie produces incredible writing at Y5 level. She is always willing to read out her work. Well done Millie.

Year 4 Jamie for ‘Hope’ and ‘Trust’ – for overcoming his fears om the music assembly, well done Jamie!

Year 3 Charlie for ‘Respect’ and ‘Wisdom’ – for sharing some fantastic ideas in our Geography debate – well done Charlie!

Year 2 Dougie for showing ALL of our school values: Dougie is such an asset to our school. He always works hard, he is kind, fair and a fantastic friend to everyone! Well done Dougie – you are very special.

Year 1 Imogen for ‘Love’ ‘Friendship’ and ‘Respect – Imogen’s cheeky smile and infectious laugh brighten up our classroom. She is a joy to be around and shows love, friendship and respect everyday!

Reception Lottie for ‘Love’, ‘Trust’ and ‘Friendship’ – Lottie is always kind, caring and thoughtful. She is a brilliant friend to everyone she meets.

Golden Book Certificates

Congratulations to the following Golden Book winners (from class work and stars)

Lucy, Archie, Thalia, Beau, Magnus, Otto, Sam, Laila, Blake, Liz, Memphis, James, Harriet, Cordelia, Oakley, Elsie, Jasmine, Harrison, Lottie and Cody

Other achievements…

Brooke, Sophia, Amelia, Lylah, Elsie, Charley, Harry, Percy, Jackson and Eva took part in a KS2 rounders tournament this week and came third! A fantastic achievement.

Lottie has received a certificate for her fantastic effort and continued improvement in gymnastics. Well done Lottie!

Nancy has recently started at a football club, on her first week she managed to receive this medal for her fantastic effort and participation!

Aoife and Lexi have been playing football for a few months now and have received awards for their dedication, perseverance and effort. It’s lovely to hear how much your confidence is growing girls!

Seren has received her level 5 swimming certifcate, she told us that the forward somersault and treading water were the trickiest bits to master! Good luck in stage 6.

Here are this week’s awards…

Weekly Celebrations

Year 6 Brooke for ‘Wisdom’, ‘Love’ and ‘Respect’ – for always being such a lovely member of Owl Class! Brooke has returned from holiday with 100% effort in all lessons.

Year 5 India for ‘Wisdom’ – for producing brilliant Science work, showing fantastic knowledge and understanding.

Year 4 Lucy for ‘Wisdom’ – for creating an amazing project based on our topic work in her own time at home. We love the enthusiasm you show across all subjects Lucy.

Year 3 Sky for ‘Perseverance’ – for working really hard and improving her handwriting, well done.

Year 2 Nancy for showing ‘Love’, ‘Hope’ and ‘Perseverance’: Nancy shows all of our school values everyday, however this week she has shown what a strong young lady she is becoming! Miss Horton is very proud of you Nancy.

Year 1 Maggie for ‘Friendship’ and ‘Respect – Maggie is such a lovely friend – she is kind, caring and wants her friends to do well. You’re a star Maggie!

Reception Jasmine for ‘Perseverance’ and ‘Wisdom – Jasmine is taking great care with her handwriting and uses her phonics brilliantly to spell words – she writes some super sentences!#

Other achievements…

Alfie has received his white belt with yellow stripe in taekwon-do! He even demonstrated a four directional punch to the whole school. We know not to mess with Alife now!!

Hallie has received a medal and a teddy for taking part in a gym competition at the weekend. She had to perform three different routines!

Freddie has completed his 5m swimming badge, a fantastic achievement!

Charley and Percy both attend ‘Oswestry Olympians’. They now both hold records, Charley for running and Percy for throwing. Great work guys!

Some of our KS2 children attended ‘Area Sports’ at Bomere Heath Primary School this week. They had a fantastic time, and we away with lots of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place certificates – great work everyone!

Sophia, Percy, Alex, Millie and Tilly all attended a Maths event at Shrewsbury High School. They had to use their mathematical and computing knowledge to crack some codes – they all had a brilliant time.

Year 6 Alice for ‘Wisdom’ and ‘Perseverance – for always showing high quality standards of written work, well done Alice!

Year 5 Bella for ‘Tolerance’ and ‘Respect’ – For always being ready to learn and showing respect to all teachers and classmates.

Year 4 Magnus for ‘Trust’ and ‘Perseverance’ – for perseverance, even when feeling poorly and trying really hard in spellings.

Year 3 Charlie for ‘Perseverance’ and ‘Wisdom – For trying really hard in his work this week, well done Charlie!

Year 2 Oliver for showing ‘Trust’ and ‘Friendship’: Oliver has been working hard to be a good friend, he is listening to adults and trying to make good decisions. Well done Oliver – keep it up!

Year 1 Mwaita for ‘Love’, ‘Hope’ and ‘Respect – Mwaita is a joy to have in Rabbit Class. Her beaming smile and positive attitude is infectious! Thankyou for brightening up everyone’s day Mwaita!

Reception Oakley for ‘Perseverance’ – Oakley is lots of fun and enjoys laughing with his friends and adults in class. He is also very polite and helpful – Oakley you brighten up our day!

Other achievements…

Aoife received a rosette for performing tricks on a horse! Very impressive Aoife!

Lexi has received her stage 5 swimming certificate AND her level 2 water safety certificate. Lexi had to be able to do lots of different things to be able to achieve these, well done Lexi!

Eva has recently joined a football team and is doing a fantastic job in goal! She received a medal for excellent participation in a match.

Weekly Celebrations 21.6.24

We have had a fantastic arts weeks, it has been lovely to see all the classes learning different techniques to create some beautiful art work. Make sure you check out our class pages to see what we have been up to.

Today we have enjoyed our ‘Have fun for Harry’ day to raise money for The Harry Johnson Trust. We have had a green themed cake sale and enjoyed some delicious cakes, see our star bakers below!

Year 6 Harry for ‘Wisdom’ – Harry is a brilliant artist. He uses the technique of perspective fantastically and is very focussed in art tasks.

Year 5 India for ‘Wisdom’ and ‘Perseverance’ – For putting great focus and effort into her art work this week.

Year 4 Archie for ‘Perseverance’ – For great perseverance during arts week, giving everything a really good go – well done!

Year 3 Sophia for ‘Perseverance’ – For excellent art this week, especially making her God’e eye – well done!

Year 2 Kohen for showing ‘Wisdom’ and ‘Perseverance’: Kohen has done a fantastic job with all off our artwork this week. He took a lot of time and care to perfect his weaving technique for his God’e eye.

Year 1 Imogen for ‘Trust’ – Imogen has worked really hard all week with her art. She has put her trust in adults and her friends to help her with new skills.

Reception Tommy for ‘Perseverance’ – Tommy had had a brilliant arts week – he has had a positive, thoughtful approach and has created some wonderful pieces of art.

Other achievements…

Harrison has received a certificate of merit for successfully completing part one of John Thompson’s Easiest Piano Course. He said he had to do lots of concentrating and play the notes really fast! He has also received his 5m swimming distance badge – a busy week!

Last week Maia told us all about a dance exam she had taken part in and this week she is showing off her trophies for such excellent dancing – great work Maia!

Thomas completed his Level 1 sailing award! He told us all about the different skills he had to master before being able to achieve this – they sounded quite complicated. Well done Thomas!
