Hedgehog Class topic work

Hedgehog Class have been thinking about where bananas come from and how they grow. They have had fun learning at home about the journey a banana takes from the farm to our homes.

Sophia has created a shop and written her own pricing labels for her products, and she also made her very own banana mask.

Well done Sophia!

Hello Hedgehogs

Please find all of your activities for today below. Lots of parents have said that they like the phonics video’s Miss Horton has been using and so I have included this today too.

We are continuing to use Oak Academy for English lessons and White Rose for Maths as this will provide consistency in what we are setting and make sure that each lesson builds on skills and learning from the previous day or week, as well as introducing new topics appropriately.

As always, please get in touch if we can support you with these tasks and keep sending the photos in!

Hello Hedgehogs.

What a busy week we have all had home learning. I’m sure you have been enjoying doing some or all of the work Miss Horton and I have put on the school website and that you have also done lots of lovely activities that you have chosen yourself too. Well done! We know it’s really hard to fit everything in to your day sometimes, especially when brothers and sisters and parents have got lots to do too. Thank you for just having a go and we are so proud of you, however much of this work you squeeze in to a busy day.

Have a good weekend

I thought this golf game looked lots of fun. Can you make one, maybe with even more holes! You can choose which numbers you put above each hole. If you don’t have a golf club, you can use any kind of bat or even a stick, and any little ball will work too. Play the game with your family. Make up the rules of the game and see who wins!

Good morning everyone.

I hope you have had a lovely week so far and that you and your family are all well.

Your tasks for today are below. If you would like to share photographs of what you have done this week please email them to admin@ruyton.shropshire.sch.uk and we will put them on the school website. If you’d rather we didn’t put them on the website please say in your email, but we’d still love to see the photos!

If your child is in Reception, you can also share photos with Miss Horton and I on Tapestry (these won’t be put on the school website).

We love to see what you are all doing, whether this is school work or your own games, projects and activities.

Reception – Sing the nursery rhyme ‘Incy Wincy Spider’ together. Print out and cut up (or draw) the different parts of the rhyme. Can you put them in the right order? Write a sentence to say what is happening for each picture.

Children in Reception spell using the sounds they know as well as remembering some short, everyday words. So the sentence ‘He climbed up the drain’ might be written as ‘He climd up the drayn’. This is ok, and you don’t need to correct every word. Try to encourage children to spell common words correctly, but other words are brilliant just sounded out!

Hello everyone

Today is the start of a new month and the end of a busy week. I hope you have had fun learning at home this week.

Thank you for looking at these pages every day and trying your best to do the tasks and activities. We know that it isn’t always easy to carry them out and that your house might be very busy at times. If any of the activities don’t make sense please do email school to ask for help or for us to explain things another way.

We try to make sure the links to other websites are working, but technology doesn’t always work so please let us know if you are having trouble getting activities to work!

Thank you

Mrs Johnson

Fine Motor Skills

This morning I’d like you to draw a shape on to a piece of cardboard. You can draw a heart, like in the picture, or a rainbow, car, animal or person. Cut out the shape and using a hole punch make a line of holes around the edge, and some in the middle too if you can. Now use wool or string to thread through the holes. You can use different colours or textures of string/wool too. If you use a big needle to help please be careful and ask a grown up to watch you!
