Rhys’ trash free trails – part 3
Last week, you may have seen that Rhys followed up on his plan to collect litter that he had been monitoring on his rides. This week, he is back with a third instalment where one of his fellow mountain bikers has accepted the challange of keeping his local trail trash free too. Brilliant community spirit Rhys – keep it up.
Jamie’s VE Day activities
Great to see that Jamie has been inspired by our VE Day activity menu. What a superb Anderson shelter and an excellent haiku poem.
Dragonfly Class Tuesday 5th May
Good morning everyone!
Some of you may be interested in another special event happening this week – it is Deaf Awareness Week. I’ve learned a little bit of sign language but I wonder if it would be a good opportunity for us all to research the British Sign Language Alphabet and gain an important life skill during lockdown… let me know how you get on! There are lots of videos and websites out there to teach yourself.

As a reminder, VE Day celebrations are also happening on Friday 8th May this week. Keep learning about the importance of this day – you could check out these links below to get you started:
As a special project this week, continue work on a project or two from the activity menu below. We look forward to seeing what you produce!
Here are your main learning activities for today:
- Reading: Try out the attached reading comprehension activity linking to VE Day. There are three levels (1star = simplest, followed by 2 stars then 3 stars for trickiest).

Other ideas for Tuesday:
- National Walking Month! How many steps can you walk in your hour today?
- TT Rockstars: The Inter House Tournament Round 5/5 begins! Play ‘Battle’ to earn your team points.
- Science: Many of you carried out your living things investigation around your gardens / homes last week. Some of you even explored microhabitats (special places where little creatures might live, tiny homes and places where everything is right for them, for example, just the right amount of dampness, light and food.)
Today we’re going to think about the seven characteristics of living things. Look at the links below to learn about the seven things living things do:
Living Things information & poem
Task: I’d like you to produce a poster this week to show the seven processes of living things or even just pick one and do it in detail. Pictures and colour would be lovely! You might even include some of the vocabulary or phrases from the poem.
There are lots of activities above – remember, you don’t have to do them all and may prefer to do them over the course of your week.
Enjoy!
Miss Whit 🙂
Sam’s gasmask
Take a look at Sam’s latest project – to make a World War II gasmask. Absolutely fantastic Sam; well done.
Move over Mary Berry…. Hannah’s arrived!
Hannah has been busy baking these delicious strawberry cakes! Oh Han I’m hungry just looking at these…! You’ve inspired me to get baking 🙂
Izzy’s latest projects – plus Willow!
Izzy has sent us an array of fabulous activities to show what she’s been up to and to share with her friends. She has made an animal scrapbook, a wormery and a lovely piece of art based on the creation project. Thank you so much for sharing Izzy – I look forward to seeing these “up close” so please keep them safe!
And of course, I am delighted to receive MORE PUPPY PHOTOS! Willow is just gorgeous – you look like you’re doing a great job with lead training too!
Archie, a tractor, a soapbox cart and a rainbow!
I had a lovely catch up with Archie last week on the phone and he was keen to share with his friends what he’s been up to! He’s been super busy working with mum but also enjoying some of his hobbies including building a soap box cart and working on his tractor. This is amazing Archie!
He’s also made a BEAUTIFUL rainbow for the NHS in his window. Thank you for sending these in Arch.
