*English – Unit from The Oak National Academy. Using the link below, find Year 5 week beginning Monday 19th October. Select Wednesday’s English lesson for Year 5. It is called ‘To explore relative clauses’. Follow the instructions in the lesson to work through the teaching video and the related activity.

*Maths – today we continuing to focus on our confidence in using the long division method. Take a look at the attached PowerPoint and then complete the worksheets. Remember that you only need to complete one level for each area – VF (varied fluency) and RPS (reasoning and problem solving). Choose whichever level you feel most confident with – developing, expected or greater depth. Mark using the answers at the back of the packs.

*Times Table practice – log onto TTRockstars and spend at least 20 minutes improving your quick recall of times tables.
*DT – We are continuing our shelters topic in school today. Last week, we looked at a variety of shelters and thought about what the purpose of a shelter was. Today, we are looking at how materials are joined and how to test the strength (durability) of different materials. The overall aim outcome of our topic is to design, build and test a model bomb shelter. You can have a go at the material testing using the sheet attached below.
