Good morning.  Here are today’s tasks:

*English – Unit from The Oak National Academy.  Using the link below, find Year 6 week beginning Monday 19th October.  Select Wednesday’s English lesson for Year 6.  It is called ‘To read a text and make inferences – part 2’.  Follow the instructions in the lesson to work through the teaching video and the related activity.

*Maths – today we are focusing on using factors to help us divide.  Take a look at the attached PowerPoint and then complete the worksheets for your year group (the Year 5 sheets focus on just short division with remainders as using factors is a Year 6 objective).  Remember that you only need to complete one level for each area – VF (varied fluency) and RPS (reasoning and problem solving).  Choose whichever level you feel most confident with – developing, expected or greater depth. Mark using the answers at the back of the packs.

*Reading – make sure that you are reading for at least 10 minutes per day.

*Times Table practice – log onto TTRockstars and spend at least 20 minutes improving your quick recall of times tables.

*DT – We are beginning our DT topic in school today which is looking at different shelters.  Take a look at the pictures attached of different types of shelter,choose one and then complete the questions evaluating the design and materials used.
