Hedgehogs Home Learning – Monday 17th May

Good Morning Hedgehogs 🙂

I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend! It was lovely to speak to some of you and your parents last week. It sounds like you’ve all been busy doing lots of fun activities at home, from gardening to learning to ride your bikes! I’ve had a visit from a chaffinch, it keeps tapping and flying into the window – I think it thinks it’s reflection is another chaffinch! It woke me up at 5am on Saturday morning!

It’s beak must be getting a bit sore! If you have any ideas on how to stop it, I’d love to hear them!!

After they have been uploaded the videos are available to view at any time throughout the day.

If you’re struggling to concentrate for the full video, try doing it in sections and have a break between each bit.

Year 1: Lesson 1 – Compare Length & Height

Worksheet: L1 – Compare Length & Height

Answers: L1 – Answers Compare Length & Height

You (or an adult) can check your answers after you’ve completed the activity

Extra Activity:

Science: What do plants need to survive? Have a look at this video to see what plants need to grow.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/science-ks1-ks2-ivys-plant-workshop-what-do-plants-need-to-survive/zkw2gwx

See how much you can remember from the video and fill in this sheet about what plants need. What do plants need to survive?

If you want to do some extra work, see if you can make your own science experiment. Put one plant somewhere dark, one plant somewhere light and give them both the same amount of water and see which one grows better – which one do you think will survive?

Can you think of another experiment to test what plants need to survive?

Remember you can complete activities from the activity menu anytime you like.

If you would like to share any work with us or your friends you can send it to admin@ruyton.shropshire.sch.uk or if you’re in reception you can share pictures through Tapestry. We love seeing what you get up to, whether that’s the work we set or other fun activities you’re doing with your family!

Keep smiling, we’re all very proud of you.

Miss Horton 🙂
